After upgrading my OS X Mountain Lion to Maverick my new MacBook Air I experienced bizarre wifi issues. The connection would randomly stop working on my computer. Waiting a few minutes, or turning wifi off and then on, would make it working again. The problem seems frequent.
Apple suggests to reinstall the OS from scratch and that seems to solve the issue. This suggested to me that there is some sort of problem in upgrading the network configuration, so here is how I solved it:
- Restart the laptop in Safe Mode, keeping the shift key down while pressing the power button
- Open “Network Preferences”
- Click “Apply” to confirm the existence of the new Thunderbolt Bridge. Then disable it, if you don’t use it.
- Delete the Wi-fi interface, apply the changes
- Create a new Wi-fi Interface
- Reboot
That made it all work for me. Let me know if it works for you too.
